Introduction

Roamo ("we," "our," or "the app") is a privacy-first offline travel companion app for iOS and iPadOS devices. This Privacy Policy explains our approach to data collection, which is simple: we don't collect any.

This policy applies to the Roamo mobile application available on the Apple App Store.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Roamo is designed from the ground up with privacy as the core principle. We do not collect, store, process, or transmit:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Travel journal entries, photos, or notes
• Travel itineraries or checklists
• Currency conversion history
• Unit conversion history
• Country guide browsing history
• Device information or identifiers
• Usage analytics or behavior tracking
• Crash reports or diagnostic data
• IP addresses or network information
• Any other personal or non-personal data

How Your Data Is Stored

All data you create within Roamo is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, which is encrypted and secured by iOS.

What stays on your device:

• Travel Journal Entries: All text, photos, and metadata remain on your device
• Checklists & Itineraries: Stored locally in your device's secure database
• Currency Rates: Cached locally for offline access
• App Settings: Preferences saved locally using iOS UserDefaults
• Photos: Stored in the app's private container, never uploaded

Network Requests

Roamo functions completely offline. The only network request that may occur is:

Currency Exchange Rate Updates (Optional)

If you choose to manually fetch current currency exchange rates, the app makes a request to a free, public currency exchange rate API. This request:

• Does not include any personal information
• Does not include device identifiers
• Does not include your location
• Is not tracked by us (we don't have servers)
• Is entirely optional - you can use the app without ever making this request

The third-party API provider may collect standard web request information (IP address, user agent) as per their own privacy policy. We do not control or have access to this information.

Third-Party Services

Roamo does not integrate with, embed, or use any third-party services including:

• Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Crash reporting services (Firebase, Sentry, etc.)
• Advertising networks or frameworks
• Social media SDKs
• Cloud storage services
• Authentication providers

The app is built using only native Apple frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, Foundation) with no external dependencies.

Children's Privacy

Roamo does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app can be safely used by travelers of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children because we don't collect personal information from anyone.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data because we don't have access to any user data.

Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers, there is nothing for us to share or disclose.

Data Security

Your data security is ensured by:

• Local Storage: All data remains on your device, protected by iOS encryption and security measures
• No Network Transmission: Your personal data never leaves your device
• iOS Sandboxing: The app runs in Apple's secure sandbox environment
• No Remote Access: We have no servers or remote access capabilities

Your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) protects your Roamo data just like all other apps on your device.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability, etc.) don't apply in the conventional sense. However:

• Full Control: You have complete control over all data stored on your device
• Delete Data: You can delete individual entries or all data within the app
• Export Data: Data is stored in standard iOS formats and included in device backups
• Uninstall: Deleting the app removes all its data from your device

International Users

Roamo can be used anywhere in the world. Since we don't collect or transfer data across borders, international data transfer regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) are inherently satisfied. Your data never leaves your device, regardless of where you are.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices (which would be a fundamental change to the app's design), we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date. Since the app doesn't have a mechanism to notify users, any changes would be posted here and in the App Store description.

Given our core privacy-first philosophy, any changes would only make the app more private, never less.

Open Source Transparency

Roamo's source code is available for inspection. This transparency allows security researchers and privacy advocates to verify our claims about zero data collection.

You can review the code to confirm:

• No analytics or tracking code
• No network requests (except optional currency API)
• No third-party SDKs or libraries
• Local-only data storage
